interview

Journalist, entrepreneur

I've been a sports writer for 32 years, a sports editor at two newspapers and a dot.com, and an entrepreneur and business owner since 2007. I'm pursuing a masters in emerging media at UGA.

I was selected as one of the country’s top sports columnists in 2004. My wife Lori and I started Fast Copy Communications, a freelance writing/editing/marketing company that contributed more than 1,000 articles a year to publications and websites across the country. My clients have included the NCAA, The Associated Press, FoxSportsSouth.com, DawgNation, CNN, The Washington Post and the AJC, among others. I've advised and mentored student journalists at the Red and Black the past three years. Lori is a journalism professor at UGA and our son Ty is freshman in high school.
